The Giving Lilac Tree!
Every spring the Lilac tree in the backyard of the Xavier Ct. House blooms. Some years it blooms more than others and some years it's more fragrant.
The original Lilac tree was planted in 1959 in Mountain View California, in the backyard of the house I grew up in. My parents sold that house in 1988 and moved to Morgan Hill California. My Dad took part of the Lilac tree with him when they moved. Six years later when my family moved into the Xavier Ct House, my Dad gave me part of Lilac tree.
When the Lilacs are in bloom, I cut a few and put them in a vase on my bedside table. I love the fragrance and the color!
Most of all I love that the Lilac tree reminds me of my Dad!

Gorgeous! We have lilacs just beginning to bud in front of our house here in Colorado. Apricots remind me of my father. He loved to try to get fruit trees to produce. Thanks for stopping by Button Floozies!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Chris! just popping in for a quick hello. I LOVE lilacs. probably one of my most favs. I too Love the scent. My poor hubby is allergic, but I cant help it... Oh, Chris, you're so lucky to have lilacs! That's one of my favorite memories of our Montana years - can almost smell them! And that's so special that your lilac came from your family home, a sweet reminder for you!
