I Forgot!!!

To take pictures of our tea this past Sunday!!

So.......

I came home from work today and set the tables all over again!

I had 3 tables, 4 ladies at each table

I ended up using a variety of colored napkins, instead of just the pink and purple......and I mixed and matched the silverware....aqua and white. My friend Maria, the invitation maker, AKA Maria Stewart, made umbrella tablecloths for two of the tables.  The bright colors and rainbow ric rac added so much color to the tables, I didn't need anything else on the tables.

The ladies are asked to bring their own tea cups, but today for the photo op, I added mine to the table.

Of course, I couldn't duplicate the amazing food the gals brought to share....tea sandwiches, a warm spinach pasta salad, fresh fruit, Waldorf salad, a jello salad with marshmallows, a green salad, and a caprese salad.

And the desserts were to die for! A mocha cake, and an angel food cake with pineapple, topped with fresh berries and Cool Whip!

Maria had seen a dessert dish by Martha Stewart in a magazine, and wanted to do something similar for our tea desserts. We went to the dollar store and came home with just the thing!

And what Maria made were these little dessert stands!

I can't believe that I forgot to take pictures! Any Hoo, at least you can get an idea of what a wonderful time we had on Sunday at tea! I always enjoy having the ladies over, it reminds me of how lucky I am to have such terrific friends!

Come on In!!!!

Sunday, I hosted our ladies group's summer tea.  There were 11 of us for lunch and one stopped by for a quick visit on her way to the San Francisco Giants baseball game!!

I wanted to have something at the front door that welcomed the ladies to tea

I used the same wreath I made for the 4th of July, you can read about that here

I used my metal basket to hold some fresh Rosemary and a few tea bags to hang on the front door. And I put a few chipped saucers in the flower pot.

Well, that gets you to the front door, tomorrow, come on in and join the tea party!!

Getting Ready.....

For a Summer Tea!

This Sunday our ladies group summer tea is being held at the Xavier Ct. house. The invitations have been mailed. There will be 12 of us getting together for tea.

The routine is the same.....bring a tea treat to share, and bring your favorite tea cup.

I have decided what plates and silverware I'm using...

Not sure about the napkins, I'm thinking that I should add my yellow and orange ones to the mix.

I guess we'll have to wait until Sunday to see how it all comes together!

Got My Groove Back!

After being gone for three weeks helping with the new grandbaby, I think, (well at least I hope so), that I'm back to my normal routine. You know the drill...work, chores, garage saling, blogging and creating!!

I have finished my friendship tags, and will have them packed and in the mail Tuesday!

And, then it's on to the next trade!!  Deb who blogs at Garage Sale Gal is hosting a fall banner trade.

Papers picked out, patterns made. I'll be working on my Fall banner this week!

A big thank you to my friendship tag partners for being so patient with me.

It feels good to back in the Groove!!

Yes, Please!

I would love to have them!!

A friend at work made me an offer I couldn't refuse..

A Farm Animal puzzle

A Mother Goose pull toy...I just love this!! The sweet little tail, goes back and forth when you pull it!! And of course, she honks when she walks!

And a Fisher Price Music Box Teaching Clock!

My co-worker said she was sorting through toys her grandchildren had outgrown and thought of me!

I'm so glad she did!

Another Quilt!

I needed a present for a baby shower.....the daughter of one of my closest friends is expecting a baby boy and I wanted to make a quilt for her.

So I used my go to pattern...easy to cut out and easy to piece.

I used a minky fabric for the back. I had the quilt machine quilted at my favorite fabric shop.

I am happy with the way the quilt turned out, and the mother to be loved it!!

A Garage Sale??? On A Wednesday???

Today on the way home from work, on my usual route, I saw a sign for a garage sale. There was no date on the sign just an address and an arrow. I wasn't sure if it was leftover from the weekend, I didn't remember seeing it yesterday....but.....

I decided to turn right....

There was a card table set up in the driveway with just a few things displayed. Right away something caught my eye.....

A little embroidered baby bib

The next thing I saw was a darling little dessert plate

A little faded, but the Southern Bell outfit...too sweet!

And then I found my Scottie! At least I think it's a Scottie.....it's not the one I was looking for in Atlanta, but still a Scottie!! A little planter I think.

Not too bad for a Wednesday garage sale...and the price was right up my alley.....$5.00 covered it!

So glad I saw the garage sale sign today!!

It Wasn't There But.....

The little Scottie Dog I was hoping to find at Boxwoods Home in Atlanta, wasn't there.... as we all know, if you see something you like you need to buy it the first time around.

My daughter and I had about two hours before the next feeding, so we decided to use the time wisely....

Thrifting here we come!!

Meg had picked out an antique store and a thrift shop for us to visit.

The first one we visited was Kudzu's Famous Home Stores.

The lawn furniture was amazing. No bargains on the prices, but still fun to look at.
Kudzu's Famous Home Store is an antique mall. With over a hundred dealers, and 25,000 square feet of space, you can just imagine the choices!
It always amazes me when clothing from the 70's and 80's, is considered vintage! What does that make me?
The next place we went to was called...

My Favorite Place is definitely a thrift shop!  8ft folding tables line the sidewalk in front of the shop....and inside, as my mom used to say, stuffed to the gills!

I made one purchase at My Favorite Place....

This Monopoly Game doesn't have all the pieces....no houses or hotels, and some of the cards are missing....still, the cards will be great for tags, and for little extra gifts tucked into packages.

I was happy to bring it home for $3.50!

After spending almost three weeks in Atlanta, with my daughter, son-in-law and new granddaughter, this Nana is heading home.

I have several projects to finish, the first of which is my friendship tags. Thanks so much to my blog pals who have been waiting patiently!
