Halloween at the Xavier Ct. House......
Some of you may remember that there is no fireplace in the Xavier Ct. House....so I decorate my sideboard for holidays.
One of my favorite Halloween decorations is the framed bat.....it was created by using a paper folding method called Iris Paper Folding.
Do any of you remember these little candy holders? They were given away in McDonald's Happy Meal Toys! Of course they were given out during the Halloween season. I have had these for years.....I was trying to remember when these were given out as Happy Meal Toys...after a little Internet research it looks like these were given in Happy Meals in 1998.
The toy included a sealed bag of candy. You filled the Halloween dispenser with the candy and as you lifted up the mask a small piece would pop out....sort of like a Pez dispenser.
I wonder if you can still get Happy Meal Toys that dispense candy?

You know I'm loving this post! Yippee for Halloween! I don't remember those happy meal Halloween toys. Emma was just born in 1998, so we weren't into happy meals quite yet. Very fun!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute Halloween things! Love the framed bat the best. Don't remember those Halloween toys either, but they sure are great.

My kids were born in 1992 and 1993, so we would have been of happy meal age. We must have skipped McDonald's during the month of Oct as they don't ring a bell either! And I have seen LOTS of happy meal toys!
ReplyDeleteCute Halloweenies!!! I want to start decorating today!!! :) Happy October! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteI don't remember those candy dispensers, my son was about six ...I guess we missed that year.
ReplyDeleteAww, so sweet are all your Halloween decorations!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteChris, I remember those McDonald's toys! I like the sweet simple "little" display you have...I am beginning to understand "less is more" more now than ever before...:)
ReplyDeleteI love that small size globe; perfect for lots of vignettes! I did a 'Back to School' mantle and used my little globe bank and some primers and a copy of the Pledge of Allegiance...love using the sideboard!
ReplyDeleteI am sure there is some law against toys with candy in them now....Geez! Your side table looks great, I love the bat too! You are way ahead of me, I have 3 cloth pumpkins...There, done decorating for Halloween and fall lol!

I haven't seen those candy holders in years. What a great memory.
ReplyDeleteGreat Halloween decor. I've never seen those candy holders.....my kids were too old for happy meals in the late 90's. I did used to have a whole bag of McDonald's toys from when my kids were little, but finally sold it a few years ago.

Love all of your decorations, especially how you placed a pumpkin in your milk glass container:)
