Slowly, But Surely!

I am slowly changing the Xavier Ct. House from Spring to Summer.

Summer for me means, red, white and blue.

I can't believe I'm admitting this but up until last weekend, I still had Easter/Spring wreaths on my front door and porch!!

Making at least one new wreath had to happen!

I used the same burlap wreath I had up for Easter, but took the plastic eggs, and bunny off.

I added a small banner, and a couple of vintage quilt squares. My burlap rosettes need a little work....oh well!

My new wicker planter....a $6.00 garage sale find....I added red geraniums....I'm planning on them blooming soon, (crossing my fingers) and adding the color this little porch area needs.

I am not sure what I will put on the bottom shelf, but you know how it works....all of a sudden you see something and you know just where to put it!

This weekend the plan is getting the wreath on the front door and the wreath that hangs in the kitchen window ready for summer!!

  2. What a fantastic find! That wicker planter is perfect. Love your wreath transformation too. As soon as we're done with the latest of Josie's western-themed celebrations, the patriotic decor comes out at my house. Happy Summer!

  3. This is great! You know I love patriotic ideas. The wicker planter was an awesome find. I adore red geraniums, and the flag is a great touch. When I look at it, I can visualize a bit of bunting hanging from the planter, along the open-weave stripe. Or another form of patriotic banner.
