All By Myself!!!
This past Saturday I went shopping at our local flea market. I went by myself, my Flea Market Friends could not go this weekend. I was really missing my Flea Market Friends....but I decided to pick up my favorite Starbucks and head out. When I got to the Flea Market and opened the trunk of the car, I realized someone had taken my cart out... thank goodness I had a shopping bag in my car. I was wondering what kind of morning I was going to have at the market....Was it an omen? What was to come?
Well... what came was..
Box full of vintage Little Golden Books and a few other books was the first find of the day...
My favorite Little Golden Book in the box...
It has great vintage images
Vintage boxes that I just can't seem to pass up.. I will use them for storage in the crafting room.
Honeycomb bunnies and little chicks...
And of course, something for Mr. Math...found in the bottom of the box full of the Little Golden Books....
Mr. Math loves Bat Masterson, as a young boy he used to pretend he was Bat Masterson... this book now sits proudly on a shelf in Mr. Math's man cave!!
It was a great day at the market...even if I was All By Myself!

Double Nickels, Oh My!
I'm an April girl!
I love that my birthstone is diamond! I love that my birthday is in the Spring.... not that I've known anything different, but Spring is a pretty terrific time of year!
It's not too often that Mr. Math, daughter number 3 and I all have similar schedules and can do something together during the week. But...April 10 is one of those days. I've been told to be home from work by noon.
I can't wait to see what they have planned!!

Chicks and a Little More......
Peeps of many colors grace the Xavier Ct house front door.....
a small urn with purple and white pansies on the porch
a simple bunny for the centerpiece
and the only Easter basket this girl has ever known
We had a wonderful Easter, celebrating with the family that daughter number 3 has taken care of for 7 years, and a close friend. There were 8 of us. We hid eggs for the two young children, 5 eggs each, with one super egg, stuffed with a little folding money. Thank goodness they are still young enough to be thrilled with a dollar! We hid them so well we still can't find one of the eggs... not the end of the world... it only held M&M's!

The Easter Tree and New Life!!
The Easter Tree shows signs of new life!
My Dad painted these eggs when I was a young girl, only 6 years old.... it was quite a project. He painted the eggs at his workbench in the garage, hanging them to dry. The eggs are stored in an egg carton, and packed away carefully. Next year they will celebrate their 50th birthday!
I have 12 of these wonderful Easter Eggs. Enough for my 5 daughters to each have 2 and 2 for me.
Hoping you enjoyed your Easter holiday, celebrating New Life!

The Giving Lilac Tree!
Every spring the Lilac tree in the backyard of the Xavier Ct. House blooms. Some years it blooms more than others and some years it's more fragrant.
The original Lilac tree was planted in 1959 in Mountain View California, in the backyard of the house I grew up in. My parents sold that house in 1988 and moved to Morgan Hill California. My Dad took part of the Lilac tree with him when they moved. Six years later when my family moved into the Xavier Ct House, my Dad gave me part of Lilac tree.
When the Lilacs are in bloom, I cut a few and put them in a vase on my bedside table. I love the fragrance and the color!
Most of all I love that the Lilac tree reminds me of my Dad!
